Pressure Reduction and Metering
Regulating and meter runs that deliver steady pressure to the turbine across its operating envelope and measure the fuel it burns.

Role in the plant
Turbines need fuel within a defined pressure band at the gas control valve, through starts, load swings and trips. Pressure reduction holds that band; metering records flow to the accuracy the project specifies.
- Setpoints verified and recorded at FAT
- Meter and transmitter data included in the record book
- Configured per turbine model across the fleet
Typical package scope
| Element | Function |
|---|---|
| Regulation | Single, monitor or redundant regulating runs |
| Response | Selected for the turbine's start and load-change behavior |
| Overpressure protection | Relief and shutdown provisions per the governing code and project philosophy |
| Metering | Meter runs with straight-run and flow conditioning as required |
| Instrumentation | Pressure, temperature and flow transmitters to the package PLC |
| Placement | Downstream of heating so cooling across the drop does not reach dew point |
Design basis
Each package is engineered to the project requirements, specifications, governing codes and OEM requirements that apply, for a single installation or a standardized fleet.
| Design input | What it determines |
|---|---|
| Operating pressure | Supply pressure range and required turbine inlet pressure |
| Flow range | Minimum to maximum fuel flow |
| Accuracy | Metering accuracy the project specifies |
| Transients | Start, load change and trip behavior of the turbine |
| Redundancy | Monitor or redundant runs as uptime requires |
| Area classification | Hazardous-area rating for instruments |
