Role in the plant

A closed loop circulates water or a glycol mixture through the equipment that needs cooling and rejects the heat through heat exchangers, air-cooled coolers or a cooling tower. Glycol protects the loop against freezing where the site requires it.

  • Pumps, exchangers, expansion and fill equipment on one structural base
  • Loop instrumentation and controls tested before shipment
  • One loop design repeated across every unit in a fleet

Typical package scope

ElementFunction
Circulation pumpsDuty and standby pumps sized to flow and loop pressure drop
Heat exchangersPlate-and-frame or shell-and-tube, sized to the heat load
Expansion and makeupExpansion tank, glycol fill and makeup equipment
Temperature controlThree-way or bypass temperature control valves
Filtration and air removalStrainers, side-stream filters and air separators
Instrumentation and controlsTemperature, pressure and flow instruments with PLC control

Design basis

Each package is engineered to the project requirements, specifications, governing codes and OEM requirements that apply, for a single installation or a standardized fleet.
