Controls and Safety Shutdown
The control and shutdown layer that runs the package, protects the turbine and proves every trip before the skid ships.

Role in the plant
The package PLC runs heater, level and pressure control, monitors differential pressure and gas detection, and communicates with the plant or turbine control system. Shutdown logic is built from the project cause and effect matrix and exercised during FAT.
- Control program released at a controlled revision per serial number
- Loop checks from device to PLC before FAT
- Identical logic across every unit in a fleet
Typical package scope
| Element | Function |
|---|---|
| Control system | PLC and HMI in a panel rated for the installed location |
| Shutdown | Inlet and outlet shutdown valves with interlocked vent or blowdown |
| Logic | Cause and effect matrix implemented and version-controlled |
| Communications | Signals mapped to the plant or turbine control system |
| Detection | Gas detection and alarms as the project requires |
| Verification | Every cause tested against its effect at FAT |
Design basis
Each package is engineered to the project requirements, specifications, governing codes and OEM requirements that apply, for a single installation or a standardized fleet.
| Design input | What it determines |
|---|---|
| Control philosophy | Plant and turbine control interfaces |
| Cause and effect | Project shutdown matrix |
| Area classification | Class I, Division 1 or Division 2 as the project requires |
| Communications | Protocols and signal lists |
| Power | Available supply and UPS requirements |
| Documentation | Control narrative and loop drawings |
