Welders

Job Summary:

  • Perform various welding and cutting tasks using gas and electric welding equipment to fabricate steel with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct FCAW and SMAW welding, passing the 4G test on a 3/8” coupon.
  • Operate plasmas and acetylene torches effectively for steel removal.
  • Skillfully use angle grinders and cutting wheels.
  • Interpret weld symbols, check weld sizes with fillet gauges, and follow proper welding procedures.
  • Set up machines and adjust gas flow rates according to procedure charts.
  • Operate stud welders proficiently.
  • Adhere to welding specifications for voltage, amperage, and wire feed speed.

Fitters

Job Summary:

  • Read and interpret shop drawings, build to specifications, and recognize weld symbols.
  • Accurately lay out rises, slopes, and bevels using framing squares.
  • Pass tack weld tests in the 3F and 4F positions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cambering.
  • Operate 90° angle grinders and cutting torches effectively.
  • Fit and fabricate structural steel using squares, angle grinders, torches, and magnetic drills.
  • Skillfully use plasmas and track torches for precise cutting.
